Who We Are?
Tucson Asphalt Contractors
and We’re Always Happy To Serve
Customers – Old or New

At Tucson Asphalt Contractors, we have over 25 years of experience serving Tucson and
Pima County. We’re proud of our successful heritage of meeting customer’s expectations.

Our Journey begins in 1996

Precious owner Paul Polito started Tucson Asphalt out of his garage. Using flyers in mailboxes to get business.

A yellow road roller with a black canopy, used by an asphalt contractor, is parked on a dirt road, with hills and cloudy skies in the background.

1998

The company grew to seven employees, and we purchased our very first paving machine.

2000

In the early 2000s, most of the company work was for the larger contractors in Tucson.

A construction worker, representing who we are, wears an orange safety vest while operating heavy paving machinery to lay fresh asphalt on a residential street, with a dump truck ahead and houses in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

2006

Perfected “Green Asphalt™.”

2007

We had our first significant paving job at the Dove Mountain Center.

Two construction workers in safety gear and helmets stand near a truck unloading asphalt. One wears a vest labeled "Tucson Asphalt Contractors," reflecting who we are as dedicated professionals at a roadwork site under a blue sky.
Workers in safety vests lay fresh concrete at a construction site. Below, a Tucson Asphalt Contractors sign features a cartoon kangaroo and the slogans “It’s Smart Asphalt!” and “We Invented Green Asphalt!” by Tucson Asphalt Contractors.

2010

Bought our building at 2425 West Curtis Road and made significant modifications.

We started the “Street Print®” – genuine stamped asphalt.

2011

The company strictly went to paving-only projects.

A freshly paved asphalt driveway curves through a desert landscape toward a brick wall with open gates. Construction tools and safety equipment are scattered along the sandy edge of the asphalt driveway.

2020

Toward the end of the year, the company became “Employee-Owned” (ESOP).

2022

The company has grown to 40 full-time employees.

Concrete barriers are lined up in a curve across an empty asphalt parking lot, with a white pickup truck and some trees visible in the background, reflecting who we are—committed to safety and organized structure.
The exterior of a commercial building displays a sign reading "Tucson Asphalt Contractors" with a smaller note below: "Employee Built - Employee Owned." Glass doors and windows mark the entrance, showcasing the pride of Tucson Asphalt Contractors.

2023

After two decades, the company moved to two new locations: Valencia Road and Nogales Highway. In addition, the company reached a milestone of 55 full-time employees.
