Field Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Field Engineer to join our team. The Field Engineer reports to and works under the guidance and direction of the Project Manager(s). The Field Engineer will assist the Project Manager in managing, planning, and coordinating engineering initiatives to develop implementation plans to ensure the project is within budget and according to schedule. The Field Engineer also ensures projects uphold Tucson Asphalt quality standards.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist the project manager with daily reporting and tracking
  • Preparing and managing purchase orders and subcontractor agreements.
  • Assist with scanning and filing receipts, field tickets, etc.
  • Actively participate in the overall day-to-day operational and decision-making project management functions, including accountability for project execution and P&L results.
  • Assist with the review and process of daily field timesheets
  • Photograph and document work areas as needed.
  • Use construction management software to track and report costs related to construction projects.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and project plan reviews as needed.
  • Actively assist in developing and managing project budget, workforce, equipment, subcontractors, and material resource plans.
  • Coordinate orders and deliveries of materials with multiple vendors.
  • Actively participate in project close-out, including required documentation and timely management of punch list.
  • Actively participate in the strategic development of a project management plan, including developing a comprehensive schedule to include all deliverables, activity durations, work sequence, constraints, interim milestones, etc., and manage updates and required schedule narratives.

Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications Requirements

  • High school Education or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and subject to random drug testing
  • Must stand for extended periods, lift arms above shoulder level, and move 50 pounds or more heavy objects.
  • Possesses strong leadership qualities.
